Westwood

  After finishing school at Baptist Bible College in Springfield Missouri, I traveled for 1 year with Living Water (a college singing group) in the summer of 1979.  Then for the next 2 years I traveled as one of the original members of SonLight, a professional mens quartet.  I met Diane (my wife) in college, but it would be after leaving SonLight that we would be married in the fall of 1981.  My musical training in school prepared me for the ministry of music.  Coming from a long line of ministry family, I followed the Lord’s call upon my life to serve Him in any way I could.  

 

     God led Diane and I to Zanesville, Ohio in January of 1986.  What a blessing it has been to be serving at Westwood Baptist Church.  We have been here for 30 years and have experienced the blessing of personally leading others to Christ, seeing them baptized and discipled.  It seems as if the time has flown by, but we are so grateful the Lord has kept us in His plan over these many years.

 

    It has been one of my personal goals to write and compose music.  The Lord has blessed me to write over 1500 songs and allowed me to publish many of them.  I have also had the blessings of being recorded by numerous professional artist over the last 3 decades.

 

   One of Diane and my greatest joys is our Daughter Lauren (Cheney) Mitchell and our Son in-law Matt who have given us our first granddaughter Hayden Olivia who is almost 2 years old.  We are so thankful for all the Lord has done for us.
